The Ready to Rocket business recognition program in BC has recently announced their lists of BC tech companies that have the highest potential for growth in 2016. This year’s listing is the 14th consecutive one, covering the 3 different technology sectors of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Cleantech (CT), and Life Science (LS). Unique in North America, the Ready to Rocket predictive listings are based on months of sector and company analyses.
Rocket Builders is the organization behind the Ready to Rocket program. Along with 2016’s predictions, they’ve also released results from the 2015 lists. Strong revenue growth across all three sectors and a record number of companies were acquired last year.
In the ICT sector, the median growth rate for the 2015 list was 50% growth, with 6 companies exceeding 100% growth. The Cleantech list also performed very well last year, with the median growth rate at 80% and 5 companies exceeding 100%. The Life Science sector showed over 100% revenue growth for all companies on the list. This growth reinforces the valuable role that tech has in BC’s economy.
2016 promises to be another great year for the BC tech sector. The lists also include predictions for Emerging Rockets. We’re happy to see some of Alacrity’s portfolio companies making appearances, some of which include, Youneeq, Riipen, and Recon Instruments.
